"Live at the Sofa Sessions" release date...
well friends, it’s finally here: a release date has been set for the live Sofa Session album. recorded over 2 nights last year (Aug 12 and 13th, 2010), it will be released by Believe Digital on October 14th. for now, it will be a download-only release, with the possibility of a future physical release. more details will be announced soon…

summer news, on a non-summery day.
hello there-
it’s raining cats and even some dogs in Berlin. i normally really like summer rain, but it’s a bit too cold and stormy for my nostalgia nerve to be tickled by it today…
i hope it’s a perfect summer week, because i have friends coming to Berlin from LA, and they’ve only ever been here in winter before, so i want them to experience the magic of summer...

Live Record Coming Soon...
“Erik Penny and Band, Live at the Sofa Sessions” will be released this summer. Recorded last year in my Berlin/Kreuzberg living room, it features 13 songs played live by me and my band in front of a great, loud, singing audience. I’m really proud of it, and I can’t wait for you to hear it!

on the road, again...
well, it’s back on the Autobahn, as i embark on 8 solo/acoustic shows supporting the wonderful Philipp Poisel. i’m excited to be sharing the support with the lovely and talented Alin Coen and Anna F. (not usually at the same time, although we’ll ALL be there at the Berlin show!). i’ll be opening each of the nights with a relatively short 25-minute set, but i think i can...

new things for the near future.
1. i just finished editing the new live album, “Erik Penny and Band, Live at Sofa Sessions”, and now my good friend Simon Frontzek is mixing it. it will be released in May, with a tour to follow in early autumn. i’m SUPER excited about releasing a live record, something i’ve always wanted to do.

i just finished up a great 5-day German run with my band, and it was really fantastic! so much fun; thanks to everyone who came out, sang along, and partied with us :)
next week we’re on the road supporting Madsen, which promises to be ridiculously cool as well. more on that after it happens…
the first dates for the new year have just been confirmed, and i could not be more...

ok Leute, i’m coming to play for you! i have the new Einkaufstaschen and T-shirts printed and packed, yellow Mercedes van rented, the band all polished up…i even washed and ironed my tie. see you there.
